I have a 2004 Jeep Liberty Sport V6 3.7. When I excel of just give it gas there is a buzzing/whirring sound coming from under the hood. Idle the engine sounds fine. Only when the gas is hit. Any thoughts?

This just started today. When idle and initially when i pull out there is no sound. But after about a minute, the noise begins. I could be leaking radiator fluid. I have seen some fluid under the car. But I am not really mechanical so I don't really know.

First, check to make sure the coolant level is full. If it is low, check the waterpump for leaks. When the bearing or seal starts to go bad, they start to make noise and leak from a small weep hole in the water pump housing.

Let me know what you find.
