An ignition misfire may be causeing raw fuel to be dumped into your exhaust system, which in turn will light off the cat converter. Your "Egg" smell is a sure sign the cat is fouled or fouling.

Have the plugs, wires and coils checked. Hopefully your cat isn't completely fouled. If so, you'll have to replace that as well.
