2004 Ford Crown Victoria air condition

I have a 2004, Crown Victoria. my cold air went out and i can't afford to fix it. can i disconnect the compressor and still have heat? it's a v8-4.6
if so what can i disconnect ,if any thing, to make the heat work properly. I would appreciate any help you can give me.

if you don't have pressure in your a/c system it won't start the compressor anyhow so you needn't disconnect anything. if you MUST disconnect something then unplug the compressor.
