Engine has quit a few times from overheating. It would start up after it cooled the last time it quit while driving in rain and had to be towed. It now starts but runs rough, miss fires, stalls and backfires when throttle is applied. I changed out tps per computer diagnostic check==no change. What do I check now? Fuel in full and fuel pressure seams ok

Probably time to have it tested for a blown head gasket or you could just save your money and look for another car. You just abused that one into the grave.

It only takes one good overheat to destroy the engine but you did it multiple times.
