Is it safe to leave a trickle charge on 24/7 even though the charger gets hot. It is a BMW charger.

Due to health reasons, the z4 is not driven very much. Which is better for the car? Have someone drive to keep battery charged (even though the battery still is dead 50% of time )or just keep charger on it.
Thanks

Get a charger that is designed to be on 24/7 and it should be fine. If course, if you have someone to drive it all the time, that would be best.
