Have to charge the battery everyday

MY 2003 VW PASSAT SEDAN Recently had a Electrical short in the car that shorted out my headlight, and melted said wire (right behind headlight casing). Turns on, but I have to charge the battery everyday. If it sits for too long, battery drains, and I have to charge it to get the car to go.

Is this bad can it be fixed can it cost a lot?

It is hard to estimate repair costs due to not knowing what caused the problem or how much was damaged.

It sounds like the battery is good if it still runs. The battery isn't the cause of the problem. You need to determine what shorted out that caused the overload and short. Then, that will need repaired and any wiring that was damaged will need repaired.

Is the alternator working?

A battery will not repair a short.
