I drive an 03 Jetta. It's been below freezing tempteratures off and on the last month and my passenger side window has not been consistently rolling down. At first I thought it was because of the freezing temperatures, but on two separate occasions it has practically fallen halfway down without me pushing anything at all. Once on the freeway and again while making a turn. I would think it's simply off track, but my trunk also has been unhinging itself while driving, but only when below freezing temperatures. Could these two problems be electrical, Or are they unrelated and my window is simply off track? Whether electrical or misc. What should I expect to pay for repairs?
Thanks for your time

The window seems almost certainly to be a faulty window regulator. The Germans cant seem to make one that can survive the cold as the plastic rollers get cold and crack. As to the trunk issue, the problem might be the cold, without further investigation, I am not sure of what to tell you. The regulator issue will likey be several hundred dollars, it will depend on the service provider you have chosen.
