Just replaced the starter because it would not start after getting up to running temperature. It would start cold. Get up to temperature, and if I turned it off then on again, it would not start until cooling down. After replacing the starter it started once but will not start at all now. Battery terminals are clean, has new battery. When turning the key the fuel pump kicks on, all lights come on, it just won't fire.

The starter won't engage, correct? Have you checked to make sure there is power to the starter?

We lost daylight. But there is a wire from the battery box to the starter that has wear spots where it rubbed against the frame. We weren't able to light test it. Also, since putting the new starter in the horn no longer honks while setting the alarm. So are we right in assuming a relay or a fuse or that wire?

IF there is a wire running from the fuse box to the starter that is rubbed through, chances are that is causing a short which will result in a blown fuse or damaged relay.

And that could cause the problem of not starting after being up to temp?

If it is the power supply to the solenoid on the starter, then yes, it could be the cause.
