Is an oxygen sensor leak something that just happens over time? How much does repair generally cost?

I have my 2003 Landrover Discovery routinely checked every 3000 miles or less. I recently had it routinely services about 2 weeks ago and it was fine. 5 days ago, my "service engine soon" light came on. I took it in to have it checked. I was told that I then had an oxygen sensor leak. Is this something that my car care person should have seen coming?

The codes are as follows: P1300; P1174, P1050; P1074, P0301 and P0303. Do you guys work on Land Rover 2003 or can you refer me to a reliable company other than a Land Rover dealer?
