Watch the steering wheel very closely when going slower, like through a parking lot. If you see it move left and right a little, have the front tires inspected for broken belts. Next, have the steering linkage inspected for worn tie rod ends and ball joints. Either one can let the tire walk away from the center of the car, then suddenly bounce back and start over. That will make a shimmy in the steering wheel.
