2003 Dodge Ram broke cylinders

i was told by a mechanic that i had to broke cylinders and it couldnt be fixed, is this true? im not sure if i need to replace the engine or the heads. just trying to get a second opinion...........................................................................

Greetings,

If the cylinders are cracked then you will need a new engine block, not a new head. There is no way to fix a cylinder crack. Even the slightest crack will cause the engine to misbehave.
