When I tried to get it smog it reads #1 misfire. I have changed the plugs and wires, and I have a new fuel pump. Still doesn't pass. I noticed that there is oil on the side of the head gasket( a big puddle), and when I'm at an idle it runs rough. I've also noticed a tapping sound when driving. Also when I try to use my air conditioner it makes a loud horrible noise. Any suggestions on what else to check that would help get it to smog?

First, the noise is most likely from the AC compressor. Check to see if that is where it is coming from.

As far as the misfire, you replaced the plug and wire. Did you properly gap the plug? Have you checked fuel pressure to confirm it's within the manufacturer's specs? Have you checked the #1 injector to make sure it isn't plugged or stuck open? Does the #1 plug get a good hot blue snapping spark when checked? If all of that checks good, have you checked compression on that cylinder? Also, the engine noise, does it sound like a lifter ticking which could indicate a valve problem? And one last question, I assume the check engine light is on with a P0301 code. Are there any other codes?
