Vehicle has an oil leak, appears to be coming from the back side of the engine (firewall side). I was looking up from the under the vehicle to try and find the source but no luck. Definitely leaves a small puddle on the floor after driving for a while and stinks, as the oil is probably hitting the manifold. I can't see the valve cover gasket on that side of the engine but it is suspect. What are some other possibilities? The oil pan and underside are saturated, but like I said, looks like coming from somewhere higher up. Thanks!

Oil leaks can come from anywhere and be blown back on exhaust etc. Take a small mirror and see if you can spot the leak that way but it can beoil ppan timing cover as well as valve cover and or intake.

Thanks for the reply Hmac300. I have never heard of an oil pan timing cover? Are you referring to the timing chain cover? If the leak is on the backside (firewall side) of the engine as front side (radiator) is clean, does this narrow possibilities down to Valve Cover? I will try the mirror but may need to clean the engine first to get a good view.

I forgot the comma after oil pan, google will give us a gig now lol. The mirror will be the only way unless youcan crawl under and see above trans. Besides are you sure it's an engine oil leak? It may be power steering or trans fluid so check those as well.

I do not know of any transmission lines or power steering on this side of the engine. Also, I do have to replace the oil a little at a time and everything else is topped off.
