car in limp home mode, wont go over 3000 revs.when i stop and switch off engine for a couple minutes and start again its fine for a while then reaccurs. mechanic scanned and said fuel pump.no problems starting.gets up to 70klmph in 5 gear just under 3000 revs.could be allright for 20 miles then have to stop,switch off and grand again for another 20 or so miles. any help appreciated

Does it say reduced performance on the dash?A bad fuel pump won't put it into limp mode.I need to know the exact code numbers not code descriptions so o cm help you further.
