To service the trans, you need to remove the trans pan, (carefully or you will have fluid everywhere), then the filter will be exposed. On an 02, I believe it is just pushed into the valve body with a rubber O-ring. Remove it and replace it with the new filter. Put a thin film of oil on the new o-ring before replacing it. Then just reverse the sequence. Refill the trans and you're done.
