My car was running fine, but needed a coolant temp sensor. So I replaced it and now it wont start. I noticed some wires broke some how and might of done it while moving some stuff around. Its the wires right next to the coolant temp sensor. Good chance thats why it wont start. Problem is I cant drive it anywhere and I have no idea what wires they are so I cant buy it until I find out. Any ideas? 2002 kia optima v6

Are you able to repair the wires that are broken? Otherwise, you are looking at a wiring harness.

The wires are broke out of its connection socket(harness) so must need a new one.
Just not sure how to identify what type of sensor or harness it is. Is there some kind of diagram I could look up for this? Any ideas help.
Thanks

Not knowing which connector it is leaves me in the dark too. Are you able to remove it to have it looked at?

Ok so I followed the wires and it leads me to the spark plug wires. The opposite end of where the spark plugs are at. The wire colors to that side are black with red strip, black with yellow strip, black with white strip and blue. The wire that connect to them are red with black strip, pink with black strip, orange with black strip and yellow. Now if I connect them back that should work, but what wire goes to what? And no harness on either and so would it be alright to get a primary wire to put in between so they reach?

You need to reconnect the wires with the same opposing wire of the same color. If you need length, yes you can add a jumper between them.
