2002 4.7L Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited. Rod knock. Checked the rod caps. One was discolored and I popped it off to find a spun bearing. The crankshaft seems to be fine. I want to try and replace the bearing shells. Should I replace just the one or all of them? And should I pop the rest of the caps off for inspection?

I would replace all of them while I have access. As far as just replacing the bearings and not the crank, you really should plastigage them to make sure they are within tolerance.

So you don't think replacing all them with new bearings will throw off the engine balance or something? I'll see if my friend has a plastiguage to borrow.

Replacing all the rod bearing won't hurt anything. However, you need to make sure the crank isn't undersized which will cause you to spin one of the new bearings.
