2002 Ford Focus Transmission

I just bought a 2002 Ford Focus Zx3. It doesn't go reverse so we took out the transmission and found out that all the clutch inside are burnt. I was wondering if I can fix it with a transmission rebuild kit instead of buying a whole new transmission? Please help

Did first gear work? The low / reverse clutch pack is the same thing. If 1st worked and reverse didn't, there may be a different issue.

I have the same problem.
2002 zx5 - it was idling high, shaking, and jerks into reverse. Today, (30mins ago) it now won't go into reverse at all but will go into other gears. What did you do to resolve your problem your help is appreciated.
