It shouldn't be glowing. You can disconnect the exhaust and run it to see what kind of difference it makes, but sounds like you need to see if it is restricted or too much fuel is getting dumped into it.

Ok I just realized I dont have a pcv valve. I dont know how thgat happened but its gone. And I read. Rough Engine Idle: A PCV valve that does not close properly will directly affect the air/fuel mixture supplied by the carburetor. This can result in a rough idle and hesitation.

So if one is completely missing it would do the same correct?

She idles really rough and hesitates alot as ive stated already. And if shes burning rich that would cause the exhaust manifold and cat to over heat right?

Sure, a large vacuum leak will change the air/ fuel mix and cause drivabilty problems that is monitored with inputs to the computer.

To ensure I post both correct vacuum diagrams could you please list the specific liter size for each engine? I.E. 5.2L, 5.9L etc.

Thanks for using 2CarPros. Com!

Hi:

They shuld ultimately run to the intake manifold. Check on the passanger side back side of the engine. That normally is the direction they run.

Let me know what you find. Also, I'll check to see if I can find a vacuum schmatic.

Let me know.

After I sent that, I was thinking. I believe one runs to the engine as I said, and one to a vacuum canister. Check that out too. Also note, they run to the front axle.

Ok I'm looking for the name of the plug that's on the top of my transfer case. It's a 96 dodge ram 1500. It on the top and has 4 like vacuum lines that go to it. One of the pieces broke on It and I can't find out the name of it. If they are vacuum lines could this cause my tranny to shift funny?

Believe it or not, it's called a vacuum switch. Here is a picture of it to confirm what I am saying.

As far as the 4wd, it will have an affect on it; however, it won't cause the transmission to shift funny. Can you explaine what is happening?

Well first my low beams quit working. I can click the high beam but the won't stay on, I have to hold the switch to keep them on. I replaced the switch and still does it. Now the main problem was about 2-3weeks after that my tranny tweaked. It would hold out first and second then when it shifted into 3rd it would down shift back to second then shift back into 3rd. So I go get the tranny rebuild and get it all back together and the 2nd day back on the road I hit the kickdown and it goes back to tweaked mode haha. I don't know wut the heck Is going on. Bit when I put the tranny back in I noticed that vacuum plug had a piece broke off. I can care less about the 4x4, I'd rather have my truck shifting right. Everything in the tranny was replaced. You think it could be electrical? Or something? It has a warrenty on it so I'll prolly jus take it back

My name is Bob and I have a 1994 Dodge Ram 1500 4x4 5.2L Pickup. I noticed a slight chirping noise. The truck ran fine good get up and go. I tuned it up because it was time. I changed the plugs, cap and rotor. After which I had gradual pick up but not able to punch it and go. It bogs and when I let up on the gas pedal it starts to pick up again. Mean while I get this slow chirping to fast and back to slow as I slow down. Only while I am driving can't hear it in park or Idle. I checked the cap, rotor and vacuum lines. The noise sounds like it coming from the firewall area. Hell pa hell pa.

I would look at the vacuum lines. You may have knocked one off performing your services.
