Chevrolet s10 pickup 2.2 litre engine 142,000 miles engine knock sound for a few seconds then quiet on cold mornings first start. No engine knock sound at all on warmer weather starts. Is this a common item in the 2.2 litre chevy eng? seller says engine makes short duration knocking noise (a few seconds) then is quiet. This happens on cold 32 degrees or less mornings. Never makes noise on warmer temp days.
Is this a common problem or forget it and move on?

it could be no big deal. But it could be a big deal. Have him change the oil and use a 10-40 or 10-30. Where does the knock come from? Top? Bottom?

After the oil/filter changed. If its on top end-its probably a lifter leakdown problem
