I have a 2002 monte carlo ss and the turn signals seem to work when the want to. They will work perfectly and then all of the sudden for any given amount of time they will stop. After a minute or and hr or a day they will magically start to work again. When the problem occurs neither left or right signally will work. The hazards will flash. So I assume its a failing switch. I work at napa and the switch will still cost me 200 dollars to buy. I had a luminaz34 that had a switch that could be cleaned or bend the contacts out a little to make it work better. Is there a way to clean the contacts on this switch? It seems to be a enclosed block instead of the wrap around the column style

When you have the time, take it apart and look at it. I've done this plenty of times with faulty switches, just to see what's on the inside. Just be prepared to buy a new switch.
