I have a 2002 chevy malibu it started to have lack of power between 40to50 miles per hour now the lack of power is very bad, the shop said it needed an EGR valve it did not help. They said the cat was ok and the fuel pressure was 50 with key on and at running. They said they cant fix it they don't know whats wrong

Was PCM scanned for codes? Does engine just loose RPMs and pedal to floor? Was igntion control module checked? May want to consider another shop
