2002 Buick Regal Car Seems Run On Hot Side Temp Gage Starts Out Low Side

my car seems to run on the hot side...the temp gage starts out on the low side of gage, but when I drive it a couple of mile it slowly moves to the middle...I notice when I get to my work the engine seems hot to touch. what do you think it is..I just bought it on sat.

Go from here-Replace the thermostat and see what happens

The thermostat controls the temperature of the engine and the coolant temperature sensor reads it-Also check coolant level-check it
