Engine light flashing

I have a 2001 vw jetta vr6 and my engine light is on due to a bad oxygen sensor. Tonight I reved the engine for a second and 10 seconds later the engine light started to flash for 10 seconds and it happened again about 30 seconds later. Is this bad

Best scan it again might not be the same code/oxygen sensor

I got the car scanned again and the same codes came up. I replaced the pre cat oxygen sensor (what the codes said was wrong) and the engine light came back on but it is no longer flashing. Whats the next step?
