Engine mangement Light

I have a toyota previa diesel 2001 cdx model my problem is as follow: when I put my toyota previa into 5th gear the car shows the engine mangement light and the car loses power and does not take any gas, I have to switch off the car and restart it. My problem only occurs once in a while but not everyday. The car jolt's on gear 2.


can you please help me?

Have the computer scanned for code/s-you have a problem within the engine management system that caused the CEL to turn on-This is your starting point of diagnosis,finding out what's going on.
