Hello. My 2001 montero (full size) when braking sometimes. Most Of the time shakes. I have replaced the brakes and rotors. I also hear a wha wha wha sound when driving. It seems to mimic the speed. All of this leads me to believe it is my hub and bearings. Thoughts?

Bad wheel bearings and worn steering linkages can result in steering wheel shaking when braking and if there are any abnormal noise, they have to be tested/checked.

Jack up vehicle and manually turn the wheels while feeling for abnormal vibrations on knuckle or shocks. If any found, most likely the bearings are worn. Check for excessive side play of the wheel.

The vibration is in the brake pedal. At least that's where I feel it the most. I dont hear a loud noise when I turn or any noise. The wha wha wha sound goes away when I apply the brakes.

Sorry for the delay in replying.

The abnormal noise while braking indicates the brake pads are most likely worn.

Vibrating feel of the pedal could mean the rear brake rotors are bad apart from the front.

Either the replacement rotors have a fault or they have not been installed correctly.
