I put the key in the ignition and turned it. All the indicator lights came on. When I tried to start it there was no noise at all. Almost like there was no connection between the ignition and engine. It acted like the battery was dead but the headlights were on and all the indicator lights were lit. I just got a new alternator 2 weeks ago and the battery is good. What can it be?

If battery seems good then check starter key circuit for power at starter with key at start position. Or could be starter itself? Tap it with hammer/ wrench. Also have you tried neutral start instead of park? Could indicate bad neutral safety switch.
