cranks but doesn't start no warning lights displayed

when it's cold starts no problem. when I make numerous stops as long as the time between starts are about 5-10 minutes it will start but eventually will stall and sometimes restarts and sometimes leaves me stuck on the spot. Also it will not start if I drive for a while and park it for more then 20 minutes it will not start, what I have to do is to wait 20-30 minutes after I try and then will start no problem.I've plugged in a code reader but it tells me that no data has been recorded. Very frustrating..thanks
