I apologize for my total ignorance when it comes to all things automobile, I'd taken my 01 Rodeo to a mechanic who told me I need to replace my accelerator pedal pressure sensor (he works with mitsubishi's and didnt have the exact name) I was able to find only ONE online, and the site canceled my order when placed, saying it was out of stock. Could it be that the APPS and the TPS are the same thing, known by different names in different countries or something? Please help a clueless guy!

This car has a throttle cable so there is no throttle pedal sensor because of the cable. You do have a TPS sensor which is on the throttle body Here is the engine wiring diagrams so you can see for yourself.

The APPS (Accelerator Pedal Pressure Sensor) is located under the dash near the gas pedal while a TPS sensor is on the throttle body.

Check out the diagrams (Below). Please let us know if you need anything else to get the problem fixed.

Cheers
