You shouldn't be just arbitrarily adding refrigerant. That can be very dangerous for both you and the car. There is only one sure way to know how much refrigerant is in the system and that is to recover it all and recharge from vacuum with measured charge. You certainly would have no idea without a professional set of gauges with high and low side readings. This is not something to attempt yourself.
