The ac turns on every time we start the vehicle. We have to turn it off.

Use a meter or test light to see if the AC switch is shorted internally.

Many cars are programmed to do that intentionally now. It removes moisture from the cabin air.

I understand the ac compressor runs to remove moisture but the actual a/c light on the switch comes on when I start the car. As if after I start the car I would want to start the a/c so I would push the a/c button. Well now, when I start the car it is already on. So every time I start it I have to push the button to the off position.
