P0108 - Manifold Absolute Pressure/Barometric Pressure Circuit High Input

If you need more information than that, you'll have to provide at least a tiny hint of what kind of problem you're having, what tests you've done, and the results.

When I first go to start the car it will start and run fine. However, when I shut it off and go to start it again it will crank and crank but wont start up. However if I let the car sit for ten to fifteen minutes It will start up again no problem. I have replaced plugs and wires as well as fuel filter and pomp. I had a engine scan and it came up with a code 108. I replaced the MAP sensor but I still have the same problem. The engine scan says that I may need a new intake manifold but I don't think I do. If that was the case I don't think the car would start at all.

Thanks, I will have to check it out the PO108 code just reads that the manifold absolute pressure/BARO sensor had high voltage input for a predetermined period of time.

I got a hold of a multi-meter and I checked the first two wires on the map sensor and they read good I need to check the third or the ECM I believe according to your diagram. What other information do I need to know?

I was checking the fuses again and everything there looked good. I started the car and listened. When I first went to start the car I could hear the fuel pump I believe making a buzzing noise then when it stopped buzzing the car started. This happened every time, There was a few times there where I didn't hear the buzzing of the fuel pump. Then and only then is when the car would crank and crank but not start. Every time I heard the fuel pump the car would start. I wonder if maybe the fuel pump is going bad? I just replaced it last year.

Hello again,

Okay. When you first turn the key on, the fuel pump should turn on for two to three seconds to prime the system and then shut off. That is exactly what we wanted to hear. We know the problem, but it might be difficult to put are finger on exactly what it is because it is intermittent and we have to be testing when it fails to figure out the exact part that is causing the problem. I have included a wiring diagram in the diagrams down below. Please check the fuel pump ground, and the PGM FI relay which is behind the glove box. You might want to start with replacing the PGM FI (Programmed Fuel Injection) relay. This might be the problem as it is just starting to fail. I have included a link below for you to go to as well.

I checked the main relay and when I turned the key on my test light lit up. So guess I need to check the ground now.

I was looking at the diagram you sent for the fuel pump ground. It looks like its under the backseat where the fuel pump is. How do I check that?

The code P0108 is a Manifold Absolute Pressure/Barometric Pressure Circuit High Input

This means you have a bad map sensor. It is located on the throttle body and the part number is C7004-183531. It cost about $70.00

A 20 minute repair held on by two screws.

I checked the relay and the ground look good I changed out the fuel pump and It started and ran. When I shut it off it cranked and cranked but didn't start. I did hear what sounded like a fan running when I turned it on.

I have a 1999 Honda civic si whith 100,000 miles on it and it won't start unless I turn my headlights on and pull out my sp sensor alternator fuss and then it will run and idle

It depends, sometimes when I do hear it running it will start. Other times I don't hear anything at all. That is when the car will crank and crank but won't start. I checked the voltage to the fuel pump and that's good.

You should hear it each time you turn the key on, it sounds like the fuel pump is bad. Here is a guide that will walk you through the replacement with diagrams below to show you how on your car. Your is easy because it has a hatch.

2. Remove the access panel from the floor.
3. Disconnect the 2P connector from the fuel pump.
4. Remove the fuel pump mounting nuts.
5. Remove the fuel pump from the fuel tank.
6. Install parts in the reverse order of removal.

I replaced the fuel pump already, this morning I went out there I checked the ground from the battery. I took it apart and cleaned it. I had alot of leaves from the tree I park under. I cleaned all the leaves and everything. I reattached the ground wire and it started right up. It starts all time now. I guess that fixed my problem. Thank you
