My truck makes a rattling noise when it has been running and I turn the a/c on but when I turn it off it stops. The noise sounds like it is coming from between the enging and transmission not sure what that means but would appreciate your help.

I need you to check something. Take a rubber mallet and tap on the exhaust system to see if you can reproduce the noise. Chances are it is either a loose heat shield or the catalytic converter is loose internally. The added load of the AC will lower the RPM's and could be causing one of these things to rattle.

Let me know.

Did you check the catalytic converter? I have seen many times that the insides of the converter come loose and make a rattle.

If the converter is loose inside, it should be replaced. As far as the heat shields, you can place a band clamp around them tighten them, and the rattle should stop.

I changed out the a/c clutch, power steering pump which was leaking and noise is still there it makes to catylitic converter rattle after it was righted up as well. At this point I'm out of ideas as to what might be causing the noise.

It makes the rattling sound when it has a load on it. For instance when the a/c is off it will not rattle but if I turn the wheel hard in any direction is will rattle, and when the a/c is on it will rattle when in idle but the rattle is more like a clunking sound from some were in the front of the engine.
