I have a starting problem with my 2003 Ford F-150 V6. The battery is about 1 year old, just had a tune-up done.

I noticed that the problem mostly only occurs when I have the A/C turned on prior to starting the truck, and it tries to start (it wobbles and shakes) but I may either have to try four or five times before or completely shut the car, making sure the A/C is turned off completely, then wait an hour or so and then it will start up. I took the car to a mechanic and he indicated it had to do with the "Crash Sensor", therefore it got replaced. I still have the problem after using the A/C.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The crash sensor? To me it sounds like the idle air control valve isn't properly working. If the AC is off the first time you try to start it, does it start normally?

Thank you Jacobannickolas. Yes, when the AC is off for the first time, the truck starts normally.

It sounds like the Idle Air Control valve (IAC). Please keep in mind, that is an educated guess without a check engine light or trouble code. I'm also wondering if the compressor is starting to lock up and placing too much of a load on the engine.

Let me know what you find.
