The van's engine light came on and it set P0455.

The van's engine light came on and it set p0455, (major evap leak detection). Inspected all the hoses, both charcoal canister under the vehicle, tested vent valve attached to the canister, and changed the fuel cap, reset the code but the code got set again. Short of smoke test, which I will have to take to a shop for, is there anything I can do.

I haven't noticed any performance problem. Would the car stall if I continued using it. I have a rather long trip coming up.

I should have done a long time ago.

After getting no response anywhere, I started going through each hose and component. I found canister had cracked. I had to remove the canister and then I was able to see. Replaced it and everything was fine.
