Can I jumper wire the plug on the mass air flow sensor

I have a 2001 chevy tracker with 2.5 v6 the mass air flow sensor is bad cant find one dont want to buy the whole throttle body. I have it unplugged but it runs bad can I jumper wire the plug itself to trick the computer and make it run better. Thanks

Took it to local shop told me it was bad but had to buy whole throttle body dealer item and I have not been able to locate a used one thanks

When it's plugged in runs ok but dies all the time when it;s unplugged runs all the time but runs bad

Have you tried cleaning it with an electronic cleaner, if it won't work -replace it

Yes I removed it and cleaned it didnt help. The problem is locating one they wont sell just the sensor have to buy the whole throttle body and I havent been able to locate a used one just trying to get by until I can was why I want to jumper the plug.
