Electric window goes up crooked and gets jamed. Is it a bad regulator?

Hello,

It sounds like the window regulator is bad which is common here is a video of the job being done on the same window system ( similar car) with diagrams below to show you how on your car.

Check out the diagrams (Below). Please let us know if you need anything else to get the problem fixed.

Power windows going up crooked is probably not caused by a bad regulator. The problem is a split rubber window track in the front of the window. I had the same issue on my 2002 Tracker 4 door drivers side window and fixed it by ordering and replacing the rubber window track. The replacement (universal) track is thinner, but works fine. I removed the door panel, and window, then cut out the damaged section of track at the seam near the place where the window angles, then butted the new section of track with the existing track, and pushed it in starting at the top. The whole job takes less than an hour.
