I have a 2001 Cavalier 2.4. I took it took Oreilly and it said that Cylinder 4 misfire. So we replace 1 ignition coil assuming that it was the one operating cylinder 4. Spark plugs was change last month or so. My car at times when I stop at a light or slow down has a slow pick up then it gradually gain speed and sometimes it acts as if it wants to stall. I'm at my wits end with this car. As I google some people say it may be the tps. Please help.

The throttle position sensor won't cause a single cylinder misfire. At most it will cause a slight hesitation on acceleration.

Since the spark plugs were replaced recently, that's the first place to look. Check if they're gapped correctly and that a ceramic insulator isn't broken and fallen down, blocking the electrode. That can happen if one is dropped.

Other things to consider are a defective injector, low compression, and a worn lobe on the camshaft. Try switching two injectors to see if the misfire switches to a different cylinder.
