What in the world are you talking about? We don't have a "back room". We work out of our homes strictly for your benefit. We buy our own service manuals and our noses are stuck inside them for hours each day researching stuff you're too lazy to learn. I spend hundreds of dollars per year on manuals when most people are too cheap to buy one for their own car. For what? So one out of a hundred people are generous enough to make a small donation out of gratitude for sharing our time and experience? Out of four computers, I had seven crashes in five months, all at my repair expense so I could help a few grateful people. Go buy your own diagnostic equipment, then whine and snivel to someone else when you can't figure out your car's problem.
If you have a legitimate question, state it, and don't make us guess about the engine size, symptoms, and observations. You do not have to make a donation to get a thoughtful answer, but don't expect us to know what's wrong if you keep a lot of information secret. If it looks like you don't have a clue what you're talking about, don't expect an answer of value in return. We're pretty good, but we really aren't psychic.
