Yesterday when I started to drive to work, the care acted as if I had not shut the driver door. The interior lights stayed on, the car continuously beeped, the car does not respond to my automatic door lock (but does unlock) and I cannot turn on the lights at night without a loud beeping sound ie, like the door was open. I checked all of the fuses and they seem fine. HELP!!

The Germans use the door latch assembly for multiple functions, the failure may well be within the door latch/module and if so replacement may be the solution. VW has integrated the ability to scan the body modules to pinpoint faults, I recommend seeking out your local VW repair facility to correctly identify and correct this issue straightaway.
