My 2000 Toyota 4Runner (4 Cylinder SR5) smokes on a cold start every morning and when I leave it sit for about 3 hours. This smoke is white and lasts for about 5 seconds. The car runs fine gets good gas mileage and does not smoke any other time.

White smoke can be from normal condensation in the exhaust system or it could be coolant getting into the combustion chamber. Check to make sure the coolant is full. Check the engine oil to make sure there is no evidence of coolant mixing with it. Let me know what you find.
