I have a 2000 Pontiac Grand Am 3400. Wouldn't start one day at all so replaced batt, starter & alternator. Once driven all lights come on and then power loss happens and car shuts down. Jumping only allows it to start for a moment then the car stalls out and no power? What could be wrong? Pls Help? Ty

I'd have to be sure your battery has a full charge and the charging system is working correctly. All connections are clean and tight. If there is a problem on wiring circuit somewhere, replacing parts won't fix it. Do you have a digital multimeter?

Sometimes your security system will let it start, then die.

We checked the connections on the batt and cleaned them and they seem fine. I checked the body control module for water and wear & tear and it seems fine. I'm just stumped as to what is wrong with this car. =(

Is your security lite on or flashing, when you try to start? If so, suspect the security system.

Nope I thought it was that too, then checked to see how I could bypass it. But its not flashing at all. It wouldn't start, so we changed starter. It started then all of a sudden all the lights went dim like loss of power than wouldn't start. Changed alternator seemed fine for an 30 mins, all of a sudden went to go to my moms all lights went on in the dash board, radio went off then car lost all power while driving it and shut off. Jumped it, it stayed fine for about a moment but batt light stayed on, even though this is a diff batt, all lights went on, started dimming then car shut off. Coasted it into drive way. Lights inside worked after car was shut off but just wont start again.

Oh and I did twice turn key to acc wait 10 mins see if start no luck, so repeated turned key to on left 10 mins turned off and attempted to start. Again no luck. My 1st thought was the passlock problems, but because I'm a girl everyone else told Me I was wrong and it was everything else I replaced. Now I just don't know what to do. =(

Sorry for the late reply. You may have check feed to and from ignition switch. That start and stall, sure sounds like a security issue? I give guys and gals the same exact answer.
