My cougars alternator light has recently started coming on and off while driving. It won't stay at a steady idle and occasionally stalls out. While moving it will rev up a bit and lurch/hesitate for a couple seconds before continuing on. I had the alternator checked and was told it was fine. She has 14 amps coming off the battery even while the light is flickering

14 amps is terrible. If you mean 14.0 volts, that is perfect but all it means is the generator is doing something. You need to have it professionally load-tested to see what the maximum current is and what the "ripple" voltage is.

It sounds like this will get you by for a while. I apologize that I'm heading out of town right now and will be back Sunday night. I'll check back to see if you had the load-test done and what the results were.
