Engine Problem

I have a Ford Taurus 2000 with 119k miles on it. Lately it shakes just after starting it and the engine light has stayed on the past 2 days. The earliest I can get it in is Friday. Any ideas what the problem is?

Sounds like a misfire issue but without knowing the trouble codes its very hard to say.

check PCV valve and hose
check for codes
