ford explorer fuel injected. Engine runs but shuts off when idling when foot is taken off of brake pedal.

Really sounds like the IAC to me......Mine (Wife's) Escape was doing the same thing
My buddy gave it(IAC) a RAP with a wrench while it was acting up....Straightened right up!
Then, since we figured that had to be the problem, we removed it and cleaned it....My buddy is a paid mechanic for the state of S.C. he said it would be fine.
I felt better about it, by replacing it anyway, it was less than I expected, and EZ to change
My "Cup Of Tea" is the Jeep CJs....I answer there a lot.
