Ford Contour - Could it be caused by a missing bolt on the EGR? My car is losing power and making a loud hissing noise. We had someone look at it and we replaced the brakes and replaced an o2 sensor and some vacuum hoses. To get to the vacuum hoses the guy removed the EGR and when we went to put it back on one of the bolts was missing.

Well now the car is running real sluggish and has like no power when I step on the gas to go. Im wondering if the missing bolt could be the problem or could it be caused by something bigger like a blown gasket of some sort like to the manifold or something like that. The guy didnt want to come back to help me with the car so im stuck on my own with this, unless someone can help me out.

Check for a vacuum line being disconnected. This includes brake booster hose and pcv valve. Can't send a diagram as I dont' knwo what engine size it is.

Check where I have drawn the red arrows. Also if the hose is soft it may have a hole in it.
