The truck listed above never had the power window option, but I just replaced my driver door with a power window, but it doesn’t work. I know that company will keep the option available even if you don’t have it, but I put in the fuse for the power window still nothing is the wires from the factory harness that has the left speaker wire hooked up control the power window or is the other connector for the door wires control it. My power mirror works and just to see if the window doesn’t have power, I hooked used the power mirror positive and negative to power the window but still nothing and I ended up blowing the fuse for the power mirror probably because the fuse was too small for the window, so I decided to put the wires back in how they were.

Hi,

The power for the windows is provided by a 25-amp circuit breaker in the junction box, left hand side of the dash.

I attached the wiring schematic below for you to reference.

Here is how it works. Power from the circuit breaker is sent to the driver's switch via a tan wire. At the window motor, there is a 2-wire connector. When you select down on the window switch, power is sent through the white wire from the switch to the motor, and then the power returns through the light blue wire and is sent to ground. When you select up, power is supplied through the light blue wire, goes through the motor, and returns through the white wire which provides the ground path. The only thing that causes the motor's direction to change is the way power goes through it. (The polarity is switched).

Locate the tan wire at the switch to see if there is power to it. Since your vehicle didn't come with power windows, chances are there is no circuit breaker or wiring for the power option.

Let me know what you find.

Joe

I do have the tan wire but not the fuse, but when I got the fuse for the windows nothing happened. So, I don’t know if it’s the switches or the motor itself and with my truck not having the power windows at this point I have no idea if it originally had them because when I bought the truck there was a Durango door on my truck with basically no wires in it and a lot of stuff on that truck is from years that are older than the truck. Does the wire for the power window run though different fuses as well and 20 is the main one?

Hi,

If you have a tan wire, what I would suggest is to go to the fuse box. Remove the new circuit breaker you installed and see if there is power available to it. We may not have power available. Also, power is supplied to the 25-amp circuit breaker from the

Question. If you run a long jumper wire from the battery to the tan wire at the switch, does the window work? If you provide power directly to the switch, it will tell you if there is an issue with the switch, motor, or something after the supply.

As far as the fuse/power is concerned, there are several different fuses before it. Note, that power to the tan wire is provided through the ignition switch. I attached pics below and highlighted the power supply, fuses, and ultimately a fusible link where the power travels before getting to the circuit breaker. Follow the highlighted wires. Note where one wire ends is a letter indicating where to go next. LOL It can get a bit confusing. LOL

Take a look through them and let me know your questions or what I can do to help.

Let me know.

Joe

See pics below. Note that I went from the tan wire backward.
