2000 chevy Astro van gearbox???

I have a 2000 chevy Astro van. The gearbox was leaking alot and I bought a new one replace it and now it is hard to turn and I have to step on the brake hard stop the car. If you can help please email me at gookracing1990@yahoo.com Thanh You

Do you have low power steering fluid?

Fluid are full. All I did was change the gearbox. Everything works befor only change the gearbox. Old gearbox was leaking, replace with new on, now no power steering or brake.????

Could the booster and power steering pump went bad? What are the chance of both of that went bad at the same time? Thanks again

You could have a bad power steering pump. Your van has a hydro booster (for power brakes) that runs off the power steering fluid pressure. So if your steering fluid level is good you could have a broken power steering pump.
