In the daytime - especially bright sunlight

During the daytime - especially bright sunny days - I can hardly read my dash instruments displays and Gear Shift indicator.

If it's quite overcast and can read it to varying degrees.
Sometimes it seems better than other times.

Some of the problem is probably my bad eyesight becoming more seensitive to bright light - but not all.
At night the headlights come on automatically and the dash light dim like they should. The same - if for instance I drive through the Drive Up at my bank that has a huge long canopy when will cause the headlights to come on. And when I leave the headlights turn off and the dash light brighten - though not to full brightness (or so it seems).

So it seems to me that he Dash light sensor is working as it should, yes?

At CVS Drive up that just has a small canopy - the headlights do not come on and the dash light do not "seem" to actually change brightness but I am able to read them - until I leave and they are too dim to read again - unless the day is very cloudy and overcast.

Any idea what the problem may be? Could it be a flaky connect in the dash wiring to the control modules?
Is it just my eyes (though I don't think so) and wojld sunglasses help?

It is the light level auto detect adjusting the instrument panel light level. If you are sensitive to bright light and it takes time for your eyes to adjust to the change from bright to dark to light. They had big problems with the dash in those cars, it may need to be rebuilt.
