Have BCM scanned for "B" codes to start with.

I would also remove battery and have it tested at most autoparts stores for free.
Battery can read 12V but still be bad.

If battery is over 4 years old, I would suspect it first.

Or if it does stay running when I hit the gas it seems to lose power ( lights dim motor bogs down) its sounds horrible too the whole car shakes. I did get it to drive once but it when I step on the accelorator it has a****** rev where it wants to go then bogs down wants to go then bogs down. I have tested the fuel pressure its at 43 psi replaced the fuel filter tried the fix for the engine being flooded replaced the battery. Help please

My car is not starting correctly. I was able to jump it, let it run for twenty minutes or more, and then shut it off. It started, but barely. I let the car sit for another hour and it would not start. About a month prior to this problem I had to have my headlights replaced (unrelated?). Is this a battery problem or something more significant?

Sounds like a bad battery. That should be the first thing you are testing.

My Buick LeSabre will not start up. The starter is turning the engine just fine but the engine will not start up. It has been to 2 different mechanics and runs for a couple of weeks the first time and then just 3-4 days the second time. The mass air flow

When you turn the key to the on position without cranking the engine over can you hear the fuel pump run in the tank for 5 seconds?

I have a 2000 buick lesabre and a few days ago I was driving it just fine, then I take it home and park it in my garage. Next morning it won't start! When I go to turn the key, it will turn over but not start. Just replaced the fuel pump about a year ago and when I turn the key to on I usually wait for the sound of the fuel pump to turn on and all I hear is a click from the relay under the back seat. So I don't know if it could be a bad fuel pump, bad starter, bad alternator, or a bad battery. Any suggestions?

Scan for codes and check fuelpressure first with a gauge, doesn't sound like a battery. Auto parts rent gauge 48 psi minimum

Had trouble starting then I shut it off and it sounded like it was still running after I took the key out. Then I smelled like electrical burning smell and finally I unplugged the battery to stop it. What can it be starter? Ignition switch? Not sure what to get for it :(

Sure, it can be either of those things or a few others also. Remove the purple wire from the starter and see if it still does is. If yes, it was the starter. If not, the problem is elsewhere in the circuit and you will have to follow a wiring diagram to troubleshoot it.

When you turn the engine over, it sounds like it is trying but it will not catch. There are no codes.
I have fuel pressure at the rail. I checked all 3 coil packs (Very close together on ohms readings and within spec's). I had Auto Zone check the ECM 3 times and it passed every time. I suspect the crank position sensor is bad but don't want to remove the harmonic balance unless I am sure.
If that is it, would I be better off changing the camshaft position sensor while I am "n the area"?

HMAC300: THANX for the quick response! I will try that tomorrow night, However, I have a question? The pic says the theft light will shut off after 10 minutes AND the whole process has to be repeated 3 times within 30 minutes. If everything works right, the whole process repeated 3 times adds up to about 31 minutes.

I didn't create the instructions just passing them on. You can do it once it may start but if the second time the light goes out time is diminished

HMAC: Tried the reset tonight. Didn't make a difference. I did discover that that might be a typo. The light went off after about 10 seconds. I even went through twice to make sure.
It looks like I will try the sensor tomorrow night.

Try resetting security system on car if no owners manual look online for your car. But from sounds of this it is going to need a trip to repair shop and scanned for codes.

UPDATE:
I replaced both the cam & crankshaft sensor. No change.

It does backfire through the throttle body so I am thinking timing. Could the timing chain jumped?

Or, could it have blown out a sensor (MAS, TPS, etc.) The 1st time it did it?
ANY suggestion would help!
